What's the difference between planting 6 year old roots vs. 3 year old?

The older ginseng roots are the more valuable they are when they're graded. Six yr old, woods grown ginseng roots are at the minimum age to be considered as harvestable. As such, six year old roots may be consumed (fresh or dried) or, they may be transplanted to age further. When they're 12 years old they will be a little bigger and worth a lot more per pound.
